Giving victims a voice

Welcome! I am Suzy Shannon, president and founder of Surviving Angels. First off, I would like you to know that if you are a victim of sexual assault by a medical provider -- you are not alone. I was a recent victim of sexual assault by my primary care physician. This left me with many unresolved emotions. Not only did I feel alone, but I felt scared, powerless, confused and depressed. No one believed me, except my close friends, but they got tired of hearing about it. I wanted someone to listen to my voice about what occurred and not judge me negatively. I needed to vent and find solutions. I wanted to feel empowered and have a voice. This is why I created Surviving Angels. I want a positive forum for others similarly situated to come together and express their emotions, vent their feelings and receive possible answers in a positive setting.
